History

February 2, 1966: A charter was approved for St. Joseph’s of Minot Federal Credit Union. The field of membership was employees and their families at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Minot, North Dakota.

February 17th, 1994: Our name was changed to UniMed Federal Credit Union to coincide with the purchase of the hospital.

July 11, 2001: Status was changed from a Single Common Bond to a Multiple Common Bond Credit Union.

July 12, 2001: UniMed Federal Credit Union’s name was changed to Edgewood Vista Federal Credit Union. On this date our membership was expanded to include: Trinity Health employees, Edgewood Vista employees, members of Edgewood Vista Resident Association and volunteers of Trinity Health and Edgewood Vista.

July 1, 2003: Employees and volunteers of ManorCare were added to our field of membership.

December 18, 2006: Edgewood Vista Federal Credit Union’s name was changed to Ascentia Federal Credit Union, allowing us to pursue other avenues regarding our field of membership.
